Not everything happens in the garden. We decided to take a quick trip to the beach to enjoy our favorite spot. It was a beautiful day for a get away, but when I got back, I noticed some things in the garden that I’ll have to eventually take care of.

Garden 2019 – Weekly Update #16 : That’s no cucumber
Happy Dad’s Day to all the dads out there. Another tour of the garden to see how the progress is going. After almost a month of no rain, we had a week of clouds, cool weather and rain. Also, it would seem that some things that I planted aren’t what I expected.

Garden 2019 : Weeklu Update #15 – Something is fishy
After having a heat wave for two weeks with no rain, we just had 2 days of rain. Well, 1 night of thunderstorms and then a day of almost constant rain. I’m sure the yard and the plants enjoyed it. Since we are into June now, the raspberry production is dwindling down and time for other plants to start building up.
I also talk about fish in the garden, in which I mention a few channels that I watch for inspiration and have used one or more forms of fish in their garden. Here is the article I wrote prior to the video.

Fish in the Garden
From the garden channels I have watched, I have notice that those who are most successful either use fish bone meal, fish emulsion, or actual fish as a way to fertilize their garden.

Garden 2019 : Weekly Update #14 – Things never go as planned
After last weekend of a bunch of activity, this weekend was more about enjoying the cooler weather. But, some people aren’t as lucky as this weekend is about getting started. Of course, just because I didn’t do any big work on the garden, doesn’t mean there wasn’t work being done in the garden.

Garden 2019 : Weekly Update #13 EXTRA LARGE
It has been a hot week. We have been over 90 degrees without a drop of rain all week and it doesn’t look like it is going to let up. It was a good thing I got the Mister Landscaper drip system for the front garden, because the front yard was getting as dry as a bone. And, with it being a long weekend, it means that I got projects done that had been sitting around idle for some time. So, expect more than just the update!
Cost estimate for the garden box:
- The 12′ pipes cost about $8 a piece.
- The roll of plastic was $30+, but there was a whole lot left over.
- The burlap fabric was $9+, but I barely used any.
- 1 pound of deck screws was $10, I think.
- 4 sacks of dirt were about $7.50 a piece. Obviously, the most expensive part.

Garden 2019 : Weekly Update #12 – Getting Clingy
Just a quick update. I added some seeds to the front garden and check on the growth all around. The grape vine is showing signs that it is going to hang around.

Garden 2019 – Weekly Update #11 : Rhubeautiful
Got a delivery from Stark Bro’s. Apparently I didn’t read what I was buying carefully enough and got a bit of surprise when I opened it.

Garden 2019 – Weekly Update 10 : Is it grass?
We had a bit of rain yesterday, which is always good for plants, not so great for blooming flowers. My grass needs to be mowed, but first, I need to make sure everything that looks like grass is grass.

Walk Around : Mister Landscaper All-In-One Micro Sprinkler Kit
Back in 2017, I won a giveaway by Mister Landscaper. They sent a All-In-One Micro Sprinkler Kit for Landscapes & Gardens – Premium Kit. They also include an extra 1/2″ hose role and a MisterTimer. I wasn’t able to set it up the year I got it, because it was already into the season and I just ran out of time to do things last year. So, this year, I am setting up the system.
I have used a different micro sprinkler/drip irrigation system in the past. For this system, I didn’t watch the instruction video and I only glanced at the instructions on the box, which will show you how easy it is to install these systems.
